Polymer bird protection devices
Polymer bird protection devices are designed to shield line suspension insulators from contamination by bird droppings and to prevent birds from being electrocuted through streams of excrement. The device is mounted on the end fitting of a line polymer suspension insulator rated at 70 kN or 120 kN and is used on alternating current overhead power lines with voltages ranging from 10 to 220 kV in areas with pollution degrees from 1 to 4. The climatic design is UHL, placement category 1 according to GOST 15150. The device operates at ambient temperatures from -60 °C to +50 °C and is installed at altitudes not exceeding 1000 m above sea level.
Device construction is made of silicone rubber, which is resistant to a wide range of environmental factors, ensuring the device maintains its functionality throughout its service life. The device has an inner diameter of 31 mm and an outer diameter of 300 mm.
