SF6 Tank Circuit Breaker VB-35

The SF6 gas-insulated tank circuit breaker (VB-35) is engineered for switching electrical circuits under both normal and fault conditions, including automatic reclosure cycles, in three-phase AC networks. Equipped with a spring-operated mechanism and integrated current transformers, the VB-35 is suitable for use in both indoor and outdoor distribution systems with a nominal voltage of 35 kV at a frequency of 50 Hz, designed for moderate to cold climates.

The compact size and weight of the SF6 tank circuit breakers allow them to be installed as replacements for any operational breaker types. The spring mechanism enables remote control (via operator or automation) and local operation of the high-voltage breaker. Each breaker is equipped with a control cabinet covering all three poles (phases), featuring a digital management and monitoring system compliant with IEC 61850 standards.

Since 2016, AO Elektroapparat has been producing the VB-35 series gas-insulated tank circuit breakers for installation in outdoor and indoor switchgear as part of block transformer substations (BCTS) or as standalone equipment. The breaker tanks are manufactured from AMg aluminum alloy, and the spring mechanism series PPRA (U) is identical to that used in 110-220 kV tank and column breakers.

Current transformers are positioned on both sides of the arc-quenching chamber, and the breaker structure allows the integration of up to eight cores with current transformers. The VB-35 breakers are equipped with relay protection systems (such as DZT) and EMU devices within the control cabinet, enabling the transmission of measurement and telemetry data in IEC 61850 format. The breaker comes with an adaptive metal structure kit, making it compatible with any foundation type for seamless installation.
