Voltage transformers (VTs)

Voltage transformers (VTs) manufactured by SVEL Group are designed to convert high voltage to standard levels, ensuring safe and accurate measurement of electrical network parameters. They are widely used in power systems, power plants, industrial and residential installations for energy metering and equipment protection.

Main Functions of VTs:

  • Voltage Transformation: Reducing high primary voltage to safe levels for subsequent measurement.
  • Circuit Isolation: Providing galvanic isolation between high-voltage and low-voltage circuits, enhancing operational safety.
  • Signal Transmission: Delivering accurate data to measuring instruments, protection devices, automation, and control systems.

Classification of VTs by Design:

  • Support-type Voltage Transformers: Installed on a support surface and have cast insulation. Example: NOL-SVEL-10.
  • Grounding Voltage Transformers: Used for grounding the neutral in networks with isolated neutral. Example: ZNOL-SVEL-10.

Technical Specifications:

  • Voltage Class: From 6 kV to 35 kV.
  • Rated Primary Voltage: From 6,000 V to 35,000 V.
  • Rated Secondary Voltage: 100 V or 100/√3 V.
  • Accuracy Class: For metering and measurements — 0.2; 0.5; 1; for protection — 3P.
