Generator SF6 Circuit Breakers VGG-20

Overview:

The VGG-20 series generator SF6 circuit breaker is designed to interrupt generator short-circuit currents and short-circuit currents in the auxiliary power buses of power plants. It has a nominal current of up to 12,500 A and a breaking current of 90 kA.

Key Features:

  • Three poles with metal housings and hollow epoxy insulators containing arc-extinguishing devices.
  • Poles mounted on a common frame with a drive mechanism.
  • Optional protective covers and control cabinets with "Digital Substation" system (IEC 61850).

Applications:

Ideal for replacing older MG (MGU) and VVG series breakers, typically installed in power plants with units up to 300 MW and breaking currents up to 90 kA. The design allows installation in existing generator switchgear chambers and comes in various modifications to suit customer requirements.
