Suspension insulators for 10–35 kV

Suspension insulators for 10–35 kV lines are designed for securing and insulating conductors, including those with SIP-3, PZV, and PZVG insulation, on metal crossarms of overhead power lines (OPL) with frequencies up to 100 Hz. They ensure reliable operation in ambient temperatures ranging from –60 °C to +50 °C, complying with the climatic design and placement category UHL 1 according to GOST 15150.

The design of these insulators is a fully factory-assembled unit consisting of sequentially or sequentially-parallel connected elements of line hardware and composite (polymer) suspension insulators. They are manufactured according to TU 3494-006-82442590-2008.

The designation of the insulators provides information on the main parameters and technical characteristics:

  • IP – single-circuit suspension insulator;
  • IPD – double-circuit suspension insulator with common attachment of circuits to the support;
  • IPRD – double-circuit suspension insulator with separate attachment of circuits to the support;
  • 25, 30, 60, 90 – rated tensile strength in kN (rated breaking strength of the clamp used in the insulator);
  • 10, 20, 35 – nominal voltage in kV;
  • A, B, V – first letter of the modification indicating the type of attachment to the support:
    • A – socket for spherical connection (nominal size 16A according to GOST 27396);
    • B – chain connection shackle (d=16 mm, W=17 mm according to GOST 11359);
    • V, V1, V2, V3 – attachment unit with bolted fastening on the support 2×M16 (V1 and V3) and 2×M20 (V2) at a distance of 80 mm and 4×M16 (V) at the vertices of a rectangle 41×85 mm;
  • K, Z, B, P – second letter of the modification indicating the type of conductor attachment to the insulator:
    • K – tension wedge clamp for conductors 5.6–9.6 mm;
    • Z – tension locking clamp for conductors 11–17 mm;
    • B1 – tension bolted clamp for conductors 11–16 mm;
    • B2 – tension bolted clamp for conductors 15–22 mm;
    • P1 – supporting dead-end clamp for conductors
