**Historical Overview of AO "RAM Energiya"**
Founded in 1923 in the Ramensky district of Moscow as the "Ramensky Metallist" artel, the company initially produced household items. It has since grown into a prominent Russian manufacturer of specialized transformer equipment, acknowledged by both domestic and international partners. In 1937, the artel transformed into the "Transformer" cooperative artel, producing arc welding transformers, low-voltage mining lighting transformers, and spot welding transformers.
During WWII, production was reoriented to support the war effort, including gas masks and combined spoon-forks. With many workers at the front, women and children took on production duties. Post-war, civilian production resumed with more advanced items such as the ST-18 welding machine and various transformers. By 1956, new workshops were established, and in 1961, production moved to modern facilities.
In 1962, the focus shifted to industrial transformers, and the plant merged with the Moscow Electric Plant, forming its Ramensky branch, which diversified production to include household transformers and high-voltage bushings. By the 1980s, the plant expanded its expertise to include RTSL reactors and power distribution transformers. In 1991, the Ramensky branch became an independent entity, registered as "Ramensky Electrotechnical Plant Energia."
Despite economic difficulties, the company continued to innovate, launching new transformers and reactors. In the early 2000s, its focus included reactors, converters, high-frequency bushings, and high-voltage measuring transformers. Key innovations included oil-immersed arc-suppression reactors with SAMUR control, high-frequency bushings with enhanced tuning, and high-voltage rectifiers for gas purification systems.
In 2006, the company produced its first sealed current transformer, requiring no maintenance, and by 2008, all measuring transformers were converted to sealed models. The production of dry-type converter transformers began in 2014, followed by power take-off transformers and an expanded range of measuring transformers in 2015. In 2016, production of a combined current and voltage transformer was initiated, and zero-sequence filters were introduced. Product modernization has increased power output for power take-off transformers and enhanced the performance of other models.
AO "RAM Energiya" prides itself on delivering products with an optimal price-quality ratio, meeting high market demand. To maintain competitiveness, the company continuously upgrades its production facilities with modern technologies, including plasma and laser metal cutting, powder coating systems, and automated winding machines.
